The Next Step of Faith

Over the past ten years, First English Baptist Church has experienced a steady growth in attendance and baptisms at a time when many churches nationwide are struggling. If we project that growth into the near future, we realize that our facilities are just not adequate for new members and visitors. With that problem in mind, and after a great deal of discussion and prayer, we are moving forward with what we believe to be God’s solution to the problem.

As we look to the future, we see a new, two-story, state-of-the-art, theatre-style sanctuary connected to the church with seating for nearly 300 on the upper floor and facilities on the lower level to enhance our ministries for children and youth. This new structure will replace the existing parsonage and will meet the need for larger and more Sunday School classrooms, more storage, and greater seating for special occasions by utilizing nearly 6,000 square feet on each floor, doubling the space we currently have available. We anticipate that more ministries will take place in the new structure than ever occurred in the existing buildings.

This building will be to be used as a tool to help the church carry out its purposes of worship, ministry, evangelism (primarily through the arts), fellowship, and the equipping of the saints. It will expand already existing ministries that reach people through the arts and provide for the creation of new ones. Current ministries of Hand bells, children’s chimes, drama, puppets, choir, Vacation Bible School, and children’s and youth ministries will all be enhanced through this facility.
